UN SPECIAL RAPPORTEUR ON HUMAN RIGHTS IN MYANMAR TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE
Bangkok (United Nations Information Services) -- The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in Myanmar, Tomás Ojea Quintana, is conducting his first mission to Myanmar this week.
Mr. Ojea Quintana had received an invitation to visit from the Myanamr Government. His activities are expected to include meetings with representatives of ethnic groups, political parties, religious groups, civil society and non-governmental organizations.
Mr. Ojea Quintana will be in Thailand following his mission.
He will hold a press conference at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 13 August, at the Theatre in the UN Conference Centre (UNCC), at the premises of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), in Bangkok.
